Chemical company Huntsman has introduced a new system of manufacturing polyisocyanurate (PIR) sandwich panels. The major difference being, no adhesive is required for the foam to bond with the skin.
Polyisocyanurate foam is believed to have better fire properties then traditional polyurethane cored sandwiched panels. With stringent insurance and building code coming into effect in Europe and the UK, a simplified manufacturing process of PIR panels should help the adoption.
